The most common option is Better Jobs Ontario, a provincial grant that covers up to $35,000 in tuition, living expenses, books, transportation, and childcare. Better Jobs Ontario (formerly Second Career) is an Ontario government program that helps people who are unemployed, underemployed, or changing careers retrain for in-demand fields. You may qualify if you were laid off, have been unemployed for 12 weeks or longer, or are receiving EI, Ontario Works, or ODSP.
