What You’ll Learn

The Dental Receptionist Certificate is a 40-hour online program that prepares you for the front desk of a dental office. Whether you’re new to dental offices, already working at a front desk and want a formal credential, or adding a dental specialty to your medical office or health administration training, this certificate gives you the practical foundation dental offices expect from day one.

You’ll build working knowledge of dental terminology and charting, scheduling and recall, fees and treatment estimates, dental insurance claims and public dental programs, and patient records and privacy — the tasks that fill a dental receptionist’s day.

The program is delivered in eight focused modules that combine clear instruction with realistic practice: booking a full schedule, preparing a treatment estimate, working through an insurance claim, and practising simulated dental office software workflows. It ends with a capstone case study built around a full day at the front desk, so you apply everything together the way you would on the job.

Graduates apply for dental receptionist, dental front desk coordinator and dental office administrative roles in general, family and specialty dental practices. The course also prepares you to plan your next step, including the move into treatment coordinator roles as you gain experience.

Is This For You?

This program is designed for:

You’re new to dental offices — maybe coming from reception, customer service or retail — and want a fast, structured way to start working at the front desk.
You already work in healthcare — at a medical or hospital front desk, or as a personal support worker — and want to move into a dental office role.
You’re studying or have completed medical office or health administration training and want to add a dental specialty.
You’re new to Canada and want training in how Canadian dental offices run.

No dental background required. You’ll learn the terminology, insurance and front desk routines step by step, with practice on every topic. If you’re organized and enjoy helping people, you’re ready to begin.

As someone already working in or near this field, this program helps you:

  • Turn your front desk experience into a recognized dental receptionist credential.
  • Strengthen the insurance, claims and treatment estimate skills dental offices rely on most.
  • Prepare for added responsibility, including the path toward treatment coordinator roles.

As someone entering this field for the first time, this program helps you:

  • Build job-ready dental front desk skills in as few as 6 weeks.
  • Learn dental terminology, scheduling, insurance and records from the ground up.
  • Present your course work with confidence when you apply for your first dental office role.

As someone exploring whether this field is right for you, this program helps you:

  • Explore how a dental office front desk really works before a bigger commitment.
  • Try the field in 6 weeks at $895 — a low-risk way to test fit.
  • Pair it with medical office or health administration training to widen your options.

Why This Program

Keep the schedule running

Book, confirm and recall patients so the day flows and chairs stay full.

Handle insurance and estimates
