What You’ll Learn

The Advanced Childcare Professional Certificate is a practical, career-focused program designed to help you move beyond foundational childcare knowledge and take on greater responsibility in early learning settings. In just a few weeks, you'll strengthen your skills in behaviour guidance, inclusive classroom leadership, developmentally appropriate programming, and family engagement.

This certificate builds on entry-level childcare training to prepare you for supervisory roles, program coordination, and specialized support for children with diverse learning needs. You'll develop the professional confidence and practical skills to lead classrooms, mentor staff, and design learning environments that meet regulatory standards and best practices.

Basic childcare experience or ECE foundation recommended. This program is for practitioners ready to move beyond entry-level roles into leadership, program design, or specialized support. If you're ready to advance, you're ready.

“I'd been an ECE assistant for four years and kept getting passed over for lead roles. This program gave me the behaviour guidance and inclusive practice training I was missing. My supervisor recommended me for the lead position before I even finished the certificate.”

Funding & Financial Support

Can I get funding to cover the cost of this program?
Yes — many of our students pay little to nothing out of pocket. What is Better Jobs Ontario and do I qualify?
Better Jobs Ontario (formerly Second Career) is an Ontario government program that helps people who are unemployed, underemployed, or changing careers retrain for in-demand fields. You may qualify if you were laid off, have been unemployed for 12 weeks or longer, or are receiving EI, Ontario Works, or ODSP. Since the programme expanded in 2022, eligibility has broadened to include gig workers, newcomers, and self-employed individuals. Learn more →
What if I don’t qualify for government funding?
You still have options. Your employer may cover tuition as a professional development investment. You can claim the federal Canada Training Credit on your tax return to recover up to half your tuition costs. And we offer flexible payment plans that let you start right away with a small initial payment — no waiting for funding approval.
